Volkswagen Factory in Dresden

VW38 found in Lithuania

This is an incredible story, not only interesting from the point of view of my love for VW's, but that an online community can contribute to the accuracy and completion of the project.

In a nutshell a highly modified (bastardised) VW was found in Lithuania.  There were certain distinguishing features which marked it as a prototype VW Beetle which against all odds had survived, albeit with only a skeleton of its originality.

A specialised restoration company in Germany got hold of this shell, and incredibly rebuilt it faithfully to its original state.

Here is the actual car, as was in 1938

And this is how it was when found - how it was even recognised is an amazing story in itself

And after the incredible restoration

The Devon is famous for its' high craftsmanship carpentry, although "Daisey's" woodwork is water-damaged in places generally it is pretty good and should restore nicely.
